Our latest and hopefully second last COVID Update
July News: Masks, Restrictions & Canada Day
To Our Loyal Clientele,
Earlier in June we had outlined our plan for our stores with the province's announcement that they would be lifting restrictions by late June/early July. As you well know by now, Alberta is lifting its enforceable restrictions tomorrow on Canada Day. We are excited, but cautious about this approach. We've been watching the active and daily case counts drop dramatically in the Edmonton zone as more and more of us get fully protected with vaccinations. With that in mind, we wanted to fully outline our plan for Track N Trail on Whyte and in St. Albert.
At St. Albert, our working staff are all two weeks post second vaccination, so we are as protected as we are going to get. As a staff, we will continue to wear masks until August 1st, at which time we'll re-evaluate where COVID is in the Edmonton zone and St. Albert in particular.
For our St. Albert clients, we highly recommend that you continue to wear a mask in our store to keep our clients safe and continue to keep the spread of COVID down. We will not make mask wearing mandatory, but out of respect for those who haven't been able to get their second dose + two weeks yet, we hope you will continue to wear a mask until the Edmonton zone can get its rate of second dose vaccinations up.
At Whyte, a few of our staff will not be two weeks post second vaccination until the end of July. We do not think it would be fair to our staff to subject them to additional risk and exposure when they are SO CLOSE to having full protection. For this reason, our mandatory mask policy and locked door policy will remain in place until the end of July. We understand that this will frustrate and alienate some of our clientele who are excited to get back to a more normal shopping experience. We ask for your patience while we navigate one more month of masking. Our priority is to our staff who have helped us navigate the past 15 months.
If you forget to bring your mask, we will have disposable masks at both stores while supplies last.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thanks for your patronage during this pandemic and we hope to see you back at our stores soon. We still have online and curbside shopping available at both stores if any of this is uncomfortable for you and we are always available to chat by phone.
Just a reminder that we are closed Canada Day and will be back in the stores on Friday. If you want to brave the heat and do something a little different this Canada Day, a few of us will be doing the #RunForReconciliation, a 3K run/walk in St. Albert at Lions Park at 9 AM to honour the victims of residential schools in Canada. You can read more about the event on Facebook. You can donate to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society. You can view a map of the route. Bring water, sunscreen and a hat.
